Extreme Weather In Indianapolis

While Indianapolis weather has seen tornados in the past, the ones that are actually in the city have not been as powerful with the strongest in the area being only an 0 F. Once you drive a little further from Indianapolis, you will see a few tornados in history that have been much more powerful. Back in June of 2008, one F3 passed only close to 33 miles away from the city. Due to the early warning system there was only one death and eight injuries because of that storm. Back in 1998 in the month of June an F4 tornado passed 11 miles away from the city of Indianapolis which is the most powerful storm to hit that close to the city within the last 25 years.
